Good morning friends. Today's clues may not be too difficult (famous last words?), I'm heading off to a distant hospital to visit an old friend but hope to be back by 5).
Happy solving! J.

I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT) to allow others to have a go.

1. Command to execute yes-man (8)
2. Wistful about dance producing a sort of record (4-7)
3. Cross over in a superjet. A risky form of transport? ( 5)
4. He sold fruit from corners and got mad when fiddled (13)
5. Stop progress and face return to US, all about muscle in meat. (3,2,3,5)

Hi jolan
Thanks for that set.
I'm not sure they are easy. After considerabale thought I've got 4 (I didn't know that spelling, but I suppose etymologically it is the original), but no idea as yet for the others

Might have 3 too - not entirely convinced.

Thanks Jolan for another 5 great clues.

I have 4 of them (loved number 5 by the way),
and will ponder the last one while I take the dogs out for a long walk in the glorious sunshine here in the South.

I think I have 2, but again not entirely sure - can't account for part of the answer.

Just a quick peek as I head off.
Good morning Chrise (Yes! No. 2 has its own definition in Chambers - you're referred to the more usual one; No. 2 is fully clued); Tony (the weather up here on Welsh coast is also lovely - hope the walk went well); & Jazzy, nice to 'see' you. Have fun! Cheerio

I'm thinking the missing bit might refer to dance as in "light on water"?
