I am suffering brain-fade with the last two.
23a- Little imp returned in passing (5-5)
Seems to me to be SHORT *R*A*

26a- Air display (6)
I have P*I*R*
PLIERS or PRIORY seem the obvious contenders, but I can't see why.
Any help would be much appreciated.

..dont know where that 9 came from !

Little = short + devil (imp) reversed

I am a complete idiot... I had written IVOR as the answer for 24d but I had written it coming UP the page - a bit too literal in following the instructions, eh?
