It is OCEAN - def. "The Main", anagram comedian without the first letters of many dirty Isomething (I forget the clue, exactly!)

Comedian - minus - first letters of ,avoiding many dirty innuendoes = Ocean (Main)

ARCH is cunning (one of its meanings) - the "person" is attached to "running newspaper", not to "arch"
