I have E?D?R?E

It looks like ENDORSE but I can't see any connection to the clue !!

Anyone help ?

Julie this isn't very strong but here goes.

Endorse means to back someone/something

Not beginning may give end and, if you use a section of discOuRSE they could give the balancing letters,

I'm not wholly convinced by this, but since nobody else has come up with anything I thought I would have a go.

That just about sums up the way this compiler works !!
I regularly find solutions from the letters I have but can't explain the clues !!
