and a well known Mondegreen features in another clue.

I feel Sue Lawley(so lonely) is the superfluous example of a Mondegreen at 7. ChrisE, the police bit is purely coincidental.

A spoonerism(sort of)does appear Joan [shining wit] and is clued elsewhere.

P.S. for those who don't know the word, it comes from the ballad "They have killed the Earl of Moray and Lady Mondegreen" (laid him on the green). My favourite is "I can see Deidre now Lorraine has gone"
