If I am correct, and 23 down is PROLE (for the French worker) then 26 across is T?E? A trey is a group of three but usually on cards or dominoes.

Like you Kiki, I can't see how PROLE works with attest. Glad you've finished. I've got 14 down and 25 across to figure out. Probably still be trying to do that by this time tomorrow : )
