I have had my Triple Teaser parade truly rained on by the Guardian, oh well, I'll still plod on with them.
The question is though, is it a record breaker, I'm sure one of our trusty setters on here can blow it out of the water with a sensible, concise quintet.
My money would have to be on AB for this one I think.

that's why I added 'concise' because as you say, it would be hard without writing a short story.

I don't think I can recall having seen anything more than a triple, before - Orlando (the compiler) is really showing off!

In your post 1 . when I (12 down) I suspect you have become the (45 down)for me to (39 across) a grid so I can (30 across) some clues of Quintuplet standard. I may use my (36 across) of knowledge to (18 across)a grid, but may need to pool all my resources and (40 across)skills like the (37 down) and use (10 down) with some research from Chambers and even dust off my old (17 across). So bear with me and don't (43 down) me for a result just yet. I'll have a think while having my (19 across) and cup of tea, hope this adds to the (28 across) of the forum without sounding too (29 across).
