Hi titus - I do apologise most sincerely but it did seem strange that both your questions are in the Flight of Fancy quiz and all answers have a connection with something that has wings or can fly.

I too thought of ling for heather but that's as far as I got.

Now if your quiz clue is for flying things
dull could be grey which sounds like gray - so grayling perhaps - a butterfly (as well as a fish)
