There weren't as many entries as usual (some of the absent regulars were perhaps busy beaver-googling like pastille), but I thought their quality was especially high. I greatly enjoyed reading them (a few took a while to parse), and I would have been torn if one of them hadn't stood out as being truly inspired: "Dubious quality of the curate's egg, eater visibly ill". Magnificent, ixion. The prize would have been more apt for other clues, like peterm's excellent one, but you're getting it anyway.

Thanks Aristo, always nice to win Clueless with the high standard of the competion...though I must admit to a sneaking suspicion that my clue may have been "remembered" from a similar one elsewhere...the curate's egg idea came before I found the anagram which makes me worry it's been dredged from my subconscious!
