Mamya, how does a partial anagram work? For 8 down, does "The Trotter"s Yard" make sense?

No, that is wrong - but you are getting closer. The answer could form the clue to the answer "old car and sty", and would be an anagram clue - but the answer to 8 dn is not an anagram.
