That's the trouble with matchplay and us high handicappers. (In and then well out of it.)I bet you would have beaten him in a stableford and definitely in a medal)

Just went to the web-site (Ribble Valley). It looks tricky. 9 holes but 18 par 73!! Does something change on the back nine?

Off out now but will have a look tomorrow nice talking to you.

Hi andy,
Nice talking to you too.
The 9th is a par 3, but second time round it is played off a back tee t make it a par 4. Some members are very proud of it being the longest 9 hole course in Lancashire, but I would like to see one of the par 5s played off a forward tee second time round to male it a par 4
Maybe you could come over and play it sometime!

That's a clever way of varying the course Chris. When going away to play golf, we tend to go to Portugal now, for the weather you understand.

Rambler that looks like a wonderful golf venue in a beautiful part of the world. As I remember it though it's a bloody awful place to get to, no motorways etc. Thanks for putting the link there.

Andy, what you say about our lack of mototways is absolutely correct but I couldn't help smiling - the last time I looked there were none to the IOM! :)

Very true Rambler but it's hard to get them to build one when your only about 35 miles long and 15 miles wide. You could probably walk it all in a day!!!!

A good walk for me is about 15 miles so shall we say 3 days?

I like quiet places - you can always visit the noisy ones and come home.
