Hi friends! Well, I wuz right. They were meant to be a little more difficult this week.

Hete are my workings as I put 'em together:-

1. open = OVERT. controversy = ROW. hospital = H. overt (H) row = OVERTHROW = upset
2. to include = ‘in’. ITERATE = repeat
3. complex anag (building) of ‘unsheltered’ – ‘turns’ = HEELED = listed
4.(cryptic) clap = a form of VD. A clap trap? “contains (holds) a form of VD”? Hence CLAPTRAP = rubbish
5. attendant = lackey; gets into bed = b(lackey)ed; ‘as sun’ (drops = tumbles = anag indic) = susan; yielding BLACK-EYED SUSAN = flower
