The letters to the right of 33a should help you, and the Philosopher was English

33a is one without a defn - you already have the "take" bit - i.e R - now you need a 6 letter word for church services

22a is one with a letter missing in the defn which is PRIME + extra

17a - the offence is SIN, so you need to reverse it iside the ophilosopher and an "A"
