Chris4food. I hope your hospital appointment wasn`t as traumatic as you feared. I think many us know that horrible hollow feeling, the day before. Best wishes, M.

Hi Molly
The "ide" is a fish only found in crosswords, as far as I know. It reminds me of a cartoon I saw years ago, showing a scene in a zoo that likes to keep its animals in their natural environment - the "gnu" was shown in a cage wall-papered with crosswords.

ChrisE, very funny! There are lots of words that fit into that category - the trick is to remember them the next time they are used!

The light has just dawned - realised that I'd spelt 9 across wrongly which put a wrong letter into 1D - all done now.

Well you are all depressing me - am horribly stuck on this one!!! Maybe if I had some help on a few the penny would drop on the others. So, come all you xworders draw nigh unto me, Help oh help or I'll have to flee - 10d, 23a, 14d. Chris , thanks for the donation - it all ends uo in the same coffers! Hope you are recovered from your hospital visit! Thanks also JAzzgirl. I am running in Warwickshire. Hope it dries out a bit. Will be doing a 4 mile walk hopefully 2morrow as practise. Have raised nearly £100 so far. To contribute to the bird theme am trying to discourage blue tit from nesting on garden! Cats licking their lips in anticipation.
