EARED ED- middle of sweden with ARE (40th part of an acre European) inside

and EARED is an old word for ploughed

22a 4 letter synonym for match + 4 letter synonym for point (not N S E or W think of a different point) defn is what a fit person has
8d it's split 3,2,3 - try your letters in chambers word wizard or universal xword solver - there won't be many choices. Defn is "get worn out"
