Thanks everyone for your help- all of the answers fit. The only one I'm still stuck on is number 3 Tell in class _ _ _ o _ m / t _ i _ n _ _ e: inform fits for the first word but I don't know what the second word is.

The clue was wrong in the magazine- triangle goes with another clue and the answer to tell in class is just onform on it's own. Thanks for your help!

ChrisE, regarding your post 6, the word you were searching for is 'homophone'. When you correct another's senior moment please get it right.

Hi ChrisE

'Homophone'is the correct word for words of different spellings and meanings that sound the same which is why Chambers lists homophone indicators.
