OK (though it was me who put Ros on to CAM 65!). More immediately,what IS the connection then between QUARTE & (I presume the most famous) musketeers (& why the inverted commas in the clue?

the fourth of eight basic positions from which a parry or attack can be made in fencing

the inverted commas are there to indicate that they were not in fact musketeers as they used swords not muskets
