Chambers Word Wizard is good for anagrams (and will give you clue 43). It now includes some proper nouns which I don't think it did in the past (am I correct here?).

Thank you Badger4. Yes Philip I realised it was the 9 letter word but couldn't find the anagram either by myself or on the computer. Will keep trying .

A good site is www.wordfun.ca

As well as the anagram part it also has a crossword solver where you can put in letters you know and dots for the gaps.

This site gave me the 9 letter anagram.
