I can only suppose 'millinery' is 'milan-ery' originally, but can find no reference.

Found the connection - straw hats! (Sorry for so many posts on this one!).

A milliner was originally "a dealer in goods made in Milan...".

And now a 'milan' is a straw hat!

Finished, but curious about one clue.

The answer's obvious, but is the clue just a reference to the film of that name or am I missing some subtlety of wordplay? Scratch the subtlety. Am I missing something that ought to be obvious?

It's from a Carry On film which contained the now famous line ' Infamy - they all had it in for me'!
