Damp lieutenant looses space worker, jiggles and turns out noisy

Thankyou to everyone who took part this week, some intricate brilliance on display! I thought writing clues was tough but that's nothing compared to judging them! I eventually managed to whittle my choices down to 11 and then to 2 stand out clues. Special commendations go to Torquemada (post #8), peterm (#9), greedy kite (#12), Phillip (#14), ixion (#15), Bullfrog (#20) and Pastille's late entry (#30)....all excellent! My runner-up, and near winner, is tonyw (#16)..wonderfully elegant.

But my winner this week is...Les40 (post #21)
