Hi AJT1...

hope you are well...I had left a post at the end of a thread before, but not sure if you got it.

I wanted to thank you for pointing out the "Bradford" deal just before Christmas.

Ordered 2 sets, one for my ma, and one for me...love them.

Managed a couple of clues for the Macmillan Quiz, which I would have been struggling with.

Cheers

On the subject of the title: it can't be a reference to the Diet of Worms (old pun), can it? "Bad diet" is also very similar to "Baddies"!

I think I've finished the crossword grid, but what is the form? Does one have to highlight anything or provide any extra information?

Finished at last but could someone explain why 23ac is throne. Throne is an angel but don't see the recitation unless part of threnody maybe?

Recitation=sounds like-"thrown"-cast?

I just took 'recitation' to mean 'when spoken'(ie sounds like) so 'throne' sounds like 'thrown'(cast).

Teenieleek - Throne is (a) a John (i.e. lavatory,), (b) an Angel, and (c) in recitation = sounds like "THROWN" = cast. Not quite sure what "low" adds to things...

Thanks everyone, mystery solved, the lavatory bit completely eluded me, assumed it was the saint, as of course Lavatch intended!

Have the answers, but can anyone explain the wordplay in 24D & 30D ?

Also, 31D seems a stretch. Not really defined that way.
