Hi,
Stuck on two clues:

15a. Open restaurants suffering reverse (S_A_T)

26a. Big beast in container according to a Cockney (B_S_N)

Think the answers must be START (=Open) and BISON (=Big beast) but can't work out why!

Grateful for any help,

Andy

Can only think that the setter gets his cockney accent from Dick Van Dyke and Basin is what the chirpy chaps mean when they say bison.

start backwards = trats can tha be short for trattorias ????

not too sure about either.

Thanks for your thoughts trevor, you may be right about both - they are certainly very odd clues!
