I believe Savonarola was afforded plenty of opportunity for a good stretch before things got heated, though his right arm was spared so that he wuld be able to write his confession. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, and his fate was fittingly ironic (or should that be ironically fitting) considering his involvement in the Bonfires of the Vanities.

Of course you're right, Torkie; I too was a bit hasty. Oh, and is that why we call those silly-looking books people read at the beach "sizzlers"?
