At the risk of sounding a bit obtuse, I found it hard to reconcile 'come up' with 'arisen' - the tenses didn't seem quite right.

My 'streaks' was,obviously, steaks+r(in the month, when oysters are edible) - eminently logical, but not necessarily the correct answer.

Thanks to all who had a go, peterm, chips, jws, aristophanes.

Just to complete things for newcomers to cryptics.

1. anag (production) of "sectarian" - "act" = ARISEN. Something has come up that .... : something has arisen that ....

2. A + STEROID + AL. "possibly" indicates not all steroids are hormones.

3. BULLET + IN

4. I + MP + UGN (anag of "gun".

5. meats = steaks. R = oyster months yields STREAKS = "barely charges".

Congrats to the various solvers of all five.
