Aristophanes. Nope!

HINT!. Concentrate on 'getting' (get = hear, make out, catch, etc.)

Of course, Ixion!

'getting' = homophone indicator.

FIDDLE = MEDDLE and MEDDLE = FIDDLE (Chambers and Oxford Thesauri)

MEDAL getting ('sounds like') MEDDLE

So, Finnle while getting medal = MEDDLE

Glad I included it now.

Thanks again all for the participation and good wishes. Hopefully see you next week (if we survive the wassailing, eh?)

A Very Happy Christmas and a Successful New Year to all.

Thanks Jolan and Jazzgirl for info. I'm on the case.

Love the "meddle" and "medal" - I should have seen that coming! (Especially as I'm a fiddler myself - now mainly folk music only - there are more people to play with and they tend to be less demanding!)

Jolan - hope you're feeling A1 for 25 December and that you'll be able to enjoy your festive repast!

Hope you feel stronger every day, Jolan, and you have a good Christmas.

Perhaps in the New Year I might aspire to solving your great clues.
