Firstly, thank you to you all for such a bumper crop of clues. There wasn't an entry I didn't like, from Sudokulover's rapid fire entry, through clever Trevor's word play, Andyc and chrisg's macabre invention and on through a welter of top quality clues.
After much internal debate I chose ixion's "Nine carrot stew, one in very hot oven". Well done, ixion.
