Joan you mustn't feel chastened. This is a dry run and everybody is getting used to the form. If two answers appear together the setter must choose the first posted correct answer and invite the clue.

Sorry, rambler - I've been busy working out how 'pestle' could havebeen aristo's answer!Also, we've maybe all solved bullfrog's clue, but none of us can post as we're all solvers.
Have put my thinking cap on, for next clue.
