Are the Nipmucks like the Micmacs(?) in Pet Sematary?

Wendy: And they say it's an absurd universe. That's me in the front row.
rambler: The Micmacs are from Maine and the Maritimes. Both tribes are Algonquian. I live in what was No Man's Land for the Narragansetts, Massachusetts, Wampanoags (of Pilgrim fame), and Nipmucks- most of these almost wiped out by smallpox, etc., but still present. Beautiful place names all around. There's a town named Seekonk, and whenever I heard it in my childhood I pictured a wedge of flying geese. Only recently did I learn that it means wild goose.

Thanks aristophanes- I'm afraid almost everthing I know about Maine comes from Stephen King.

Aristo, I imagine you're joking about being in the front row!
Rambler - don't forget the Maine Coon cats - wonderful good-tempered long-haired moggies but very expensive in UK now.

Yes, that time I was joking. Did sing it in Albert Hall though.
