Thanks Jolan for giving me a laugh on no.1

I have always spelt apartment (one p)
Chambers shows this, but also shows appartement (11 letters) as a suite of rooms in a house. So I am also confused!

Hi all. Back home at last.
Thanks to all who had a go:- Therogue (with a clean sweep)' Jazzgirl, mog, peterm, and Joan (who caught me right out!!)

My clue no. 5 was meant to be
key word = APPOINTMENT
Bring someone's attention to = POINT out
Leaving AP?????MENT
PART in giving AP(PART)MENT = PAD.

But, as pointed out by Joan and confirmed by Jazzgirl, my spelling leaves something to be desired. I've alwasy spelt appartment with 2 p's. Totally wrongly, of course so I MUST APOLOGISE MOST SINCERELY FOR MY ERROR. Being a bit cocky, I rarely check my spelling. From now on, I'll check every word. One is never too old to learn. Thanks a million Joan and JG.

As to the others:-
1. ( a charade) ass + ass + in(during) + ate(anag of tea)
2. (a double).
3. (insertion) of AGE iton iron = press
4. Taxidermised (a full anag)
5. Boo to me!

LOL Jazzgirl. Super. I've rewritten that pesky clue, having just gotten rid of a 'p'. Aahhhh!

5. Bring someone’s attention to art in appointment pad? (9)

Jolan - thanks for your apology. We all make mistakes from time to time, but I was more surprised at other people coming up with the wrong correct answer! Until jazzgirl posted her comment, I felt I was the only person who thought (knew!)how to spell apartment.

Looks like it's been fun yet again...

Did not get a chance today, as I have been otherwise occupied.

I think ixions's weekend warm up looks like a winner as well.

take care,

p@

Oh heck! Had a feeling something was wrong when I got 5 out of 5!
Well spotted Joan, must admit I didn't check the spelling of ap(p)artment. I am now re-educated!
Thanks for the clues again Jolan!

Therogue - you DID get five out of five! Irrespective of the spelling mishap, you managed to solve Jolan's clues.
