Hooray! Finished without "cheating", all correct! So I'm not the only one who "works" at night? Then "Santé" as they say here! Thank you again for some good entertainment!

Hi Lionheart.

I can't seem to get it, it's OK though, I will do it on my desktop, I was trying to get a copy last night to take to bed, but I'm still a quarter of the Saturday cryptic jumbo short, so I didn't go empty handed.

I don't know if this will help, but I use Crossword Compiler by Anthony Lewis to create my grids, and when I post them on here or to friends, I use the public folder in DROPBOX, which is a piece of software you can get free (up to 2 Gig). Just Google DROPBOX to get the info.
When I have completed a crossword,
I go to File,
Then click on Print/Export...
Then in the right column it gives you a choice of Print, PDF, or Use MS WORD
I click PDF and save in MY DOCUMENTS
Then transfer the PDF version into my Dropbox public folder which gives it it's own web address which you can paste into any thread or document and it will automatically make it a direct link.
Also when in the dialogue box of choosing Print/Export... , If you look down the list of options, you will see HEADERS, click on this and it will give you a new set of dialogue boxes to put in titles or your name.

This may be pointless info if you use a different Crossword Compiler, but hope it helps anyway.

Good luck.

trevor...I'm always wary of software updates but the latest Java is safe as houses :)

greedykite...Glad you enjoyed it :) And, yes, I'm pretty nocturnal!

Les40...Excellent advice! I use the same Crossword Compiler (excellent piece of kit!) but I haven't yet discovered all of it's possibilities. I've been exporting to Word docs so I can format them to fit all the clues on the same page. I've got a dropbox account but have never used it. From now on I think I'll export to both PDF and Word and use dropbox to share them. I like it :)

That's brilliant Lionheart,

Just some extra info for you, if you see Big Dave on here, he also uses the same software and he got his 4 Millionth hit on his crossword website a few weeks ago, so reach for the stars my friend.

If you would like to see one of my crosswords, then go back to a Thread I posted in September and it is under the Post "Crossword for trevor and anyone else", and on that thread I posted a complete breakdown of the cryptology of the clues, Via my DROPBOX public folder.
I would have a look which date it was, but I'm off to work now and haven't got time, I think it was around the 20th Sept but not really sure.
I will pop back on here tonight when I get home and see how things are going

Speak soon pal, Les40
