re 31. (castle spin)
There's Balmoral bread, but can't find Balmoral roll. No sign of Pembroke roll either.

Julie of aberdeen confirmed that there is a particularly disgusting local delicacy of that name. And there was an aberdeen castle. it's a shopping centre now.

Think you are right. In the dim recesses of what purports to be my mind,I can recall this answer being given somewhere, but did not associate it with this quiz.

You must try to get beef out of your mind. The men there are more linked to mutton.

Subject : Aberdeen Rolls
Yes, that was a fun evening - started on 25th August at 19:52 by Skitts and went on for 6 pages. What's that about mutton TJ? They're all beefcake up here... Aberdeen Angus. There is a lot of mutton dressed as lamb. Terry as was got the Aberdeen Castle/Aberdeen Rolls answer as locally they are known as Rowies or Butteries.
Cheers
J

Julie fae Aberdeen...

A good rowie is good...if it wasn't for the fact you can feel it clogging the arteries even before you have finished it.

There was a good programme on the other night about "local food".

The rowie served it purpose, as many a fisherman will tell.

That looked like a good wee quiz.
