28 could simply be...scottish salmon.

well,that's all I can think of.

How annoying that the setter should have made such similar clues both with (8 & 6) letters. Maybe it's a setter's error ? Terry as was you might be right with the salmon but for which clue ?
Will have a think when I've recovered from 10 mile walk...shattered.

No, but paralysed ! Off with the Ramblers (as opposed to the Haverers - but very similar) You'll never guess who was in the butchers with her grandchildren ... Yes, our very own Camilla in Ballater.
