Wendy: Dakota's very popular over here; I cringe every time I hear it called out. I still haven't heard of anyone named Texas or New Hampshire. Best wishes, Paul and company.
Reminded me of one of the children who joined the library a few years ago.
"'er name's Portia" said Mum.
"Lovely name", says I, "from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice"
"No", says Mum "Like, the car, P.O.R.S.H.E"
I got chatting to a woman with a young baby girl at a bus-stop one day. When I asked what the baby was called, the woman said 'Femally' - well, that's what it sounded like anyway. I said I'd never heard of it- the woman said she hadn't either, she'd seen it on a baby cot in the maternity unit. I asked how it was spelt...F-E-M-A-L-E!
