I think a bit of perspective needs to be applied.I live in Enfield and there has been riots .Enfield is one of London's biggest boroughs .Enfield town was targeted by idiots who thought they could raid a few shops.And get away with free burglary .
It is actually a very nice place to live.On the doorstep of countryside and next door to Hertfordshire.It includes areas of poverty mixed with some of the most sought after properties in North London/Herts. Winchmore Hill N21 adjoins Enfield 200 yards from my house.Try and buy a house in Broad Walk N21 for less than 5 million.
All the troubles are disgusting and started by idiots.
Most of Green Lanes ,Winchmore Hill and Enfield were informed that there may be more trouble tonight and so closed shop accordingly.The pub pub that we went to for a meal was closed just in case(my birthday today)and we think that it was an over reaction.
Had a good meal nearby anyway.

Happy birthday Tony! Used to live dowm the road from you in Muswell Hill. On Saturday we were going to go to Wood Green Vue but Lucy kicked up a hell of a fuss. Must have been a bit psychic given what went on! Wouldn't have been great given this was going to be the last outing before she pops.
