I thought that terry as was is the old terry.
When he came back on this site I did a terry! log in just to prove a point about registration .
If I double click on my log in page,I have the choice of tonyw or terry! and since I cannot remember the password for terry! it will never be used again.

"terry as was" is the old (original) terry. all other similar names are someone else.

I tried terry small t, large T, !, *,etc. wouldn't accept any of them.

yes I did. When "terry as was" came back after a few weeks he said something like "what is this registration thing"and I replied with terry!(with exclamation mark)that I had to register and I cannot remember the password.

Well, I find it very confusing and shall retreat to normal folk on Answerbank.
