Il ne pleut pas ici aujordhui oh dear I think my school French may be in contradiction of the dreaded apostrophe misuse.. aujourd'hui? No that doesn't look correct

So obvious when you get the answer, thanks Molly. And ironically we moved to France from Devon, Susan, to escape all the wet weather we had suffered for 35 odd years!
Incidentally, I thought that was a great crossword - especially liked the plea to King William
