Many thanks dja.

Zardoz - 38ac is a synonym for 42ac. It's p + a word meaning dress.

The title refers to the creator of 1ac & 40ac. Think animation.

p - is p+
dress - another word/noun for this.

Thanks peterm & Chips.

That gives 2 words for 31D.
Also have (I think) reasonable answers for 24D - 2 words, 4D - 3 words.
If 10D is a synonym for "pants" I'm still at sea. :-(

OK, got the theme.

Title refers to the creator; add a "Y".

That raises the question, "Does 11D end with E or Y ?"

Yes, but as it's "Parky" could 11D be the adjective?
