was thinking elapse as an anag of please then anag of sheens for sneesh - would be strange to have guddle as the answer wnen it is half the clue (but not impossible!)

Hi, Dunderheid. What I meant was, what you do to the fish's belly when you are guddling. Another clue to the same answer, might be amuse, or what happens to your fancy if you like something.

HI, Cracker. I'm going with gat, which is half of gather, to understand. Got is half of Gothic, but that's not English. I'm presuming that gat is past tense.

I think that is right, Cracker, but I have been wrong before, and Myops' clues can be quite difficult at times.
