In the courier mail crossword there is one word that my family is unable to solve. The clue is fairy and has four letters. We believe the letters are al_i but we can't figure out the missing letter. Thank you for your help.

I have seen reference to the name Alfi (meaning elf counsellor/elf power in Old English).
