I know this is an old crossword, but the answer to one clue has been bugging me for a while:
20d "Look briefly at a Strauss score?"
G_A_C_
Presumably it's GLANCE, but I don't get the Strauss score bit. Can anyone help?

I think it's Andrew Strauss, the England cricket captain. A glance is a batting stroke.

Thanks a lot for your replies, guys.
@Bullfrog: I'm not much of a cricket buff. Is Andrew Strauss known for that particular batting stroke?
@susieg: Could be, but what would the connection with glance and score be?

@mcks -- any top-order batsmen will have a glance in his range of scoring strokes. Any famous cricketer would have done, but the use of Strauss is a clear misdirection towards the vaious classical composers of that name.
