I got the grid from the AB site and don't have a clue where to start! Anyone else attempting this yet?

Only just got going on it - 7d is a good start - defn is antiseptic and the answer is found in foruselater.
19d old is the defn
27a stupid is the defn

Once you make a start it's quite easy. You have a definition and an anagram in each clue, with one extra letter inside the anagram. For instance, in 1ac you're looking for a word for fibre in an anagram contained in the other words - alters image.

After the Genius puzzle - if you've been working on it, this is a piece of cake

Am over halfway now. Can I just ask - the preamble says 'the extras spell a five-word excerpt from a quotation...', Do I have to unscramble all the extra letters, or is it simply spelled out?

it's simply spelled out as you down the clues - it's from shakespeare

Thanks - had got as far as Shakespeare and even have thoughts on where the quotation's from. My notes are a bit scrappy just now, so maybe all will be revealed when I tidy them up!
