It's only 6 weeks since we 'visited' the same place.

Missed that one Tony - must have been when I was "down under".
But we did have a "similar placed" xword within the last 12 months that I remember too.
Perhaps Doc is from that part of the world too!

S - I got the first prize on that one - were you out of the country then? Two of us from the same part of the world in the winners list - it was Doc's 500th. I haven't had the prize yet, though.

I'm puzzled by the apparent spelling of 43 across. The famed Dutch tennis player spells his name with a 'kk' as far as I remember, whereas the solution requires a 'ck'. Bad clueing? Or am I missing something?

Ironman - I agree, had to get the tippex out myself when words didn't fit! I suppose it must be an alternative sp.

Ironman - I agree with you, re the tennis player's spelling. If I put the apparently correct spelling, then 36 Down ended up being wrong. I went with the 'ck' as I felt I had no other option.

12A...is the dot/full stop after clue somehow indicating "o"?

ixion- yes I wondered that - seems to be an anagram but where's the extra "O" required?
