Can anyone help with the wordplay for 37dn? I presume the unchecked letter is O.

No, never been although I have seen the horse race (name escapes me) on TV. Looks lovely, didn't realise burnt sienna was because of the colour of the buildings. By the way, am in agreement re this site. So few of the threads are about crosswords and lots of regulars are missing. I defected before to Answerbank when K, who helped me a lot when I started doing crosswords, was getting badly treated, but I prefer the layout here plus it used to be very friendly.

Didn't see anyone yesterday. Thought you had all gone on holidays. ;-)

Rather easy one from Dumpynose.
Only quibble was 19D, usually spelled with an H.
Also, not clear on the word-play for 33D, "Guardian turning on Carmen?" (the last part)
