Thank you Siamcat , got it from your clue.
I never realised how many plays had been written , it seems like I must have googled thousands of them, now I am stuck with these from the next page if you can help again please
6. We will in 2012 (3,3,4,3)
7. Currently invading New York (3,3,3)
8. Rotten Row (6,4)
9. In a pack of cards its value is ones (4) ( could only think of aces but could find no play called that maybe on wrong track)
10. Someone who has been raised to the bench (3,5) ( was thinking maybe the Judge but again no luck in finding a play called that either)

Think you are right with The Judge, a John Mortimer play (Rumpole of the Bailey writer) but not easy to find.

9. Just another thought for you, clue says "ones" not "one", so either it could have something to do with the first answer in the quiz, or it could relate to a card with a value of more than one "1".

Sadly Sir A is only emoting with, not in, The Gods these days so we will have to find another leading man.

Happy to emote with a will (or a Tom, Dick or Harry)

7. might be 'the bed bug'(although bedbug is written as one word)

www.sovlit.com/bedbug/

i looked at a programme on my radio a while back and NYC is insanely infested with the little buggers that have become resistant. people having to burn all their stuff etc.
one bloke was living in an empty room, sleeping on a hospital trolley with some sort of gel on the legs(of the trolley)because whatever else he tried, they just came back and he - along with lots of others - has allergic reactions to them.

(an opening scenario for our play Siamcat?)

a pandemic is predicted.

ho-hum, might be wrong answer anyway.

Thanks agin for your interesting posts.
Please note I did a typing error on one of the clues
it should read
In a pack of cards its value is one (4) (for some unknown reason I put an s on one and now I have confused the situation.)
Sorry

Loved your bedbug answer. (pause to have a good scratch)

Aiden, there are plays entitled "Ace" (but can't find "Aces") and "Jack".
