Have got only 1 clue to get, but all the unclued ones are still blank.

The answer I'm considering is the word for the rear of a ship - am I correct and, if so, what has it do with 'star'?

Babs - titles of novels. Their words go round corners in the grid e.g.1a & 8d are together

Got the titles, very few empty spaces, but can't see any connection.

AJT, you're not being as dim as me - I haven't got a single title yet! I've loads of letters - as I'm finished solving - but unfortunately I have loads of blanks too.

Took a while to get the clueless ones, being one myself, but all done now except for first letter of 42ac. Is it p? seems only one to fit but can't find the river.
