Tommy - it's the R & N which are reversed, and the 'type' referred to in the clue could be a type of film or maybe novel. A generic term

Aaah. Thanks, Tony. Was thinking of Gray as a person rather than a unit. Should have seen the anagram; should have called to mind "Lament for a ___".
