Stuck on a few of these again. the first two clues cross each other on the centre letter. got some ideas on 2 of them, but not seeing the connection. could just be being dumb...

Thanks jimbo and jolan (good to see you're still doing your 5 at 5 jolan). thought hippo a bit too obvious. never heard of ippon (but see how it fits) and they both fit so that'll do me! thought midway myself, but cant see how it works... also thought median.

Hi Howdedo Just a thought MEDIAN is an anagram of MAIDEN (which is a runless OVER). Just reverse the middle four letters. What d'ye think?
