If you AMEND a document, you alter or improve it.

If you EMEND a text, you correct errors in it.

INQUIRE = ENQUIRE

Sorry, Tony. The clue was revises (6). So much for attention to detail. I'll try to remember this next time I am criticising someone else for a similar lapse.
