french writer =je (french for I, the compiler).

inside "in" & ct (court).

French writer = Je (Je is french for I- the writer of the clue)
In (c)ourt(t) cases = ct

there you are then,a slight difference of opinion.

I think ct is an abbreviation of court.

in & ct contains(cases) je.
