I'm missing one letter. For 24a: Core religieux will consume this before even (the result of confusion) (5, 2 words) I have O_ERE. I'm assuming it's French rather than Latin, and I'm just drawing a blank. Also, for 32a, where does the extra E come from? The anagram pool seems to have only two of the critters.

Hi Aristo

24a Or Ere

32a - the only way I could get this to work was to assume the (2nd) ie is to be read as 1e

Thanks, ixion. I did think it must be OR ERE but didn't get the clue (though the answer of course bridges the first two words). As for the i.e.- hm; you're probably right, but I don't think it's playing fair. Are you sunning yourself in the Hebrides?

Can someone explain 15ac for me? Uteri I assume, but why? Also, in 31ac where is the 'get far away' bit in ming, not to mention the agricultural bit. As you can see I do a lot of guessing of answers!

Havent got 15 ac either, but looks like 'uteri'
